Messaging - Callback

Description

Callback Messaging lets you leave a callback signal on a telephone when the called party is busy or does not answer. The callback signal can be a flashing lamp, or a name and number message (on display sets). When you receive a callback, you can review the message on the display (if applicable) and/or call the sender back.

Conditions and Feature Interactions

• Callback Messaging does not apply to 2500 telephones.

• Name and number messages only apply to display telephones.

• Name and number messages only operate if the call is placed to the Prime line, a single non-Prime line, or a non-prime group in which the set is the first one listed in the appropriate Group form.

• A message is automatically cancelled if the sender and receiver have a telephone conversation (not a Conference).

Operation

5001 IP Phone and 5201 IP Phone

To leave a callback message on a telephone when you hear busy or ringback tone:

• Press Message.

To respond to a message waiting condition on your telephone:

1. Lift the Handset.

2. Press Message.

5005 IP Phone, 5010 IP Phone, 5205 IP Phone, 5207 IP Phone, 5212 IP Phone, 5215 IP Phone and 5215 IP Phone (Dual Mode), 5312 IP Phone, TeleMatrix 3000 IP Phone

To leave a callback message on a telephone when you hear busy or ringback tone:

• Press Message.

To respond to a message waiting condition on your telephone:

1. Press Message.

2. Do one of the following:

3. To call the message sender, press #.

4. To erase the message, press *.

To leave a message waiting indication on a telephone when you hear busy or ringback tone:

• Press Message softkey, Message programmable key (6905 IP Phone), , Leave a Msg softkey, , or dial the Message feature access code.

To respond to a message waiting condition on your telephone:

1. Press Message,, , or dial the Message feature access code.

2. If a password is required, enter your password and press Enter.

3. Press Yes or Read Message.

4. Do one or all of the following (if required):

5. To display the time the message was sent, press More or More Msg.

6. To display the number of the caller, press More or More Msg twice.

5. Do one of the following:

6. To call the message sender, press Call.

7. To delete the message, press Erase or Erase Msg.

8. To view the next message, press Message or .

To check for messages from a remote station:

1. Press SuperKey (must be programmed to a key on the 5330/5330e IP Phone and 5340/5340e IP Phone).

2. Press No until Remote Msging? appears.

3. Press Yes.

4. Dial your extension.

5. Press Enter.

6. If a password is required, enter your password and press Enter.

7. Press Yes.

To set, change, or clear a password (up to 7 digits not 0):

1. Press SuperKey (must be programmed to a key on the 5330/5330e IP Phone and 5340/5340e IP Phone).

2. Press No until Set Password? appears.

3. Press Yes.

4. Do one of the following:

5. To set a password, enter the password.

6. To change or clear your password, enter your current password.

5. Press Enter.

6. If you are changing or clearing your password, do one of the following:

7. To change your password, enter your new password and press Enter.

8. To clear your password, enter 0.

7. Enter your new password again. If you are clearing your password, enter 0.

8. If you are setting or changing a password, press Enter.

5140 IP Phone and 5240 IP Phone

To leave a message waiting indication on a telephone when you hear busy or ringback tone:

• Press Leave A Msg.

To respond to a message waiting condition on your telephone:

• Do one of the following:

• Press Messaging followed by Call.

• Lift the handset, and then press Messaging.

A call is placed to the message sender (voice mail system or extension user) that left the oldest message.

To review messages before responding:

1. Press Messaging.

2. If a password is required, enter your password and press Enter.

3. Press Read Message.

4. Press Call Me Back.

5. Do one of the following:

7. To delete the message, press Erase Msg.

8. To view the next message, press Next.

To check for messages from a remote station:

1. Press Messaging.

2. Press Remote Msgs.

3. Dial your extension.

4. Press Enter.

To set a password (up to 7 digits not 0):

1. Press Messaging.

2. Press New Password.

3. Enter a password.

4. Press Enter.

To change or clear your password:

1. Press Messaging.

2. Enter your current password.

3. Press Enter.

4. Press New Password.

5. Enter your current password.

6. Press Enter.

• Press the Message feature key.

To respond to a message waiting condition on your telephone:

1. Press the Message feature key

2. Press Read Message.

3. Do one of the following:

5. To call the sender, press Call.

6. To delete the message, press Erase Msg.

4. When viewing the time the message was sent:

5. To display the name/number of the sender, press More Msg.

6. To call the sender, press Call.

7. To delete the message, press Erase Msg.

2. Press # until Message is displayed.

2. Press to select Message.

3. Press OK.

"MESSAGES" appears in the display when you have callback messages waiting.

To respond to a message waiting condition on your telephone:

1. Short press of the key.

2. Press  to select Message.

3. Press OK.

4. If a password is required, dial your password and press Enter.

5. Press Yes.

6. Do one of the following (if desired)

You can program a password to prevent access to your callback messages. To set or change a password:

1. Long press of the key.

2. Press No until "Set Password?" appears.

3. Press Yes.

6. To change your password, enter your current password.

7. Press Enter.

8. Long press of the key.

To clear a password:

1. Long press of the key.

2. Press No until "Set Password?" appears.

3. Press Yes.

4. Enter your current password.

5. Press Enter.

6. At the "New password" prompt, dial 0.

7. At the "Verification" prompt, dial 0.

8. Long press of the key.

• Press FCN then press 3.

To respond to a message waiting condition on your telephone:

1. Press MENU.

2. Press FCN then press 3. "Call Me Back?" is displayed.

3. Press Yes.

4. Do one or all of the following (if required):

5. To display the time the message was sent, press More.

6. To display the number of the caller, press More twice.

5. Do one of the following:

6. To call the message sender, press Call.

7. To delete the message, press Eras.

8. To view the next message, press Msg.

9. To go back to the previous display, press Agn.
